During Transport
• Place the cake on a flat surface (car floor is best — NOT a seat).
• Keep the car cool; turn on air conditioning.
• Drive slowly and carefully:
• Avoid sudden stops and sharp turns
• Take turns wide and gradual
• Keep the cake out of direct sunlight.
Upon Arrival
• Carry the cake level with two hands.
• Refrigerate immediately if not being served right away.
• Do not stack anything on top of the cake box.
Important
• Do not open the box during transport.
• Avoid long stops while traveling.
• If any shifting occurs, contact the baker before adjusting.
• Remove cake from the refrigerator 60 minutes to 2 hours before serving.
• Best served at room temperature (68–72°F / 20–22°C).
• Keep cake out of direct sunlight and heat.
• Refrigerate any leftovers promptly.
Why:
Serving at room temperature allows the cake to be softer and the flavors to fully develop.
Cakes are NOT pies — please do not cut this cake like a pie.
For best results and maximum servings:
1. Start by cutting straight down through the center of the cake.
2. Cut long, rectangular slices, not triangular wedges.
3. After removing the first slice, continue making parallel cuts of equal width.
4. For larger cakes, cut the cake in sections, then slice each section into rectangles.
5. Use a long, sharp knife and wipe the blade clean between cuts.
This method ensures neat slices, even portions, and more servings.
